چکیده
Great saphaneus vein’s aneurysms are rare clinical entities and especially that can diagnosis as an inguinal hernia in physical examination. Detailed anamnesis, physical examination and detailed doppler ultrasonography are very important in the femoral region masses. We present a case, who was operated for venous insufficiency but we observed multiple great saphaneus vein aneurysms in the operation.

Objectives: The term, ‘varicose veins’ is used commonly to describe the enlargement and tortuosity of lower extremity veins. However varicose veins can occur elsewhere. The traditional surgical treatment has been vein stripping to remove the affected veins. In this article we aimed to present common anatomical variations of saphenofemoral junction encountered during surgical procedures in young...
متن کاملA failure of preoperative duplex imaging to diagnose a lower extremity venous aneurysm in a patient with severe chronic venous insufficiency
OBJECTIVE We present a case of recurrent bilateral lower extremity venous stasis ulcers in association with a superficial venous aneurysm at the right saphenofemoral junction that was misdiagnosed on preoperative duplex scanning. METHODS A 53-year-old female presented to our clinic with 6-year history of bilateral lower extremity venous stasis ulcers. Her past medical history was significant ...
متن کاملEvaluation of the venous reflux of the great saphenous vein by duplex scan after surgical treatment of the saphenofemoral junction insufficiency.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the occurrence of reflux from the great saphenous vein by color Doppler ultrasonography in subjects undergoing treatment of insufficiency of the saphenofemoral junction by simple ligation or ligation with section of the saphenous arch. METHODS We performed 60 operations (in 45 subjects) of varicose insufficiency of the saphenofemoral junction (SFJ), belonging to the CEAP...
متن کاملAnatomical variations of the saphenofemoral junction in patients with varicose veins.
